The Quality Control Officer is responsible for conducting routine inspections of raw materials, production processes, and finished products to ensure compliance with company quality and food safety standards. The position is responsible for GMP monitoring, customer complaint investigations, third-party laboratory coordination, pest control coordination, product inspections, and maintaining quality records.
Incoming Material Inspection
· Inspect incoming raw materials and packaging materials against approved specifications.
· Verify quantity, condition, labeling, expiration dates, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs), where applicable.
· Report non-conforming materials to the Quality Assurance Officer.
GMP Monitoring
· Conduct routine GMP inspections in production, warehouse, and storage areas.
· Monitor personnel hygiene, sanitation, housekeeping, equipment cleanliness, and GMP compliance.
· Report GMP deviations and verify implementation of corrective actions.
In-Process and Finished Product Inspection
· Conduct routine production line inspections.
· Perform random finished product inspections, including product weight, appearance, packaging integrity, coding, labeling, and seal quality.
· Report and document non-conforming products.
Customer Complaint Investigation
· Conduct initial investigation of customer complaints related to product quality and food safety.
· Gather production records, inspection reports, retained samples, and supporting evidence.
· Coordinate with Production and concerned departments to determine the probable root cause.
· Prepare investigation reports and submit findings to the Quality Assurance Officer for review and approval.
· Assist in implementing corrective actions.
Third-Party Laboratory Coordination
· Collect and prepare products, environmental, or water samples for laboratory analysis.
· Prepare the Request for Laboratory Analysis (RLA) and required documentation.
· Coordinate sample submission to accredited third-party laboratories.
Pest Control Coordination
· Conduct routine inspections for signs of pest activity.
· Coordinate scheduled inspections and treatments with the accredited third-party pest control provider.
· Maintain pest control records and report findings requiring corrective action.
Equipment Verification and Calibration
· Verify the calibration status of measuring and monitoring equipment.
· Coordinate the calibration of all measuring equipment with accredited third-party service providers.
· Maintain calibration schedules, certificates, and records.
· Report equipment requiring repair, maintenance, or replacement.
Procurement and Inventory Support
· Monitor inventory of QC supplies, cleaning and sanitation materials, inspection tools, PPE, and sampling materials.
· Prepare purchase requests for quality-related supplies and coordinate procurement with the Purchasing Department.
· Ensure the availability of quality, cleaning, and sanitation materials to support daily operations.
Documentation
· Maintain inspection reports, GMP monitoring records, customer complaint investigation reports, laboratory submission records, pest control records, non-conformance reports, and daily QC monitoring reports.
· Ensure all quality records are complete, accurate, and properly filed.
Other Duties
· Perform other quality assurance functions assigned by Management.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in food technology, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or any related field.
· Preferably with 1–2 years of experience in Quality Control or Food Manufacturing. Open to Fresh graduates.
· Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, Food Safety Standards, quality inspection procedures, sampling techniques, documentation, and basic calibration requirements.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skills.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal departments and third-party service providers.
· Detail-oriented with the ability to identify product defects, GMP non-conformities, and quality issues.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and work independently or as part of a team.
· Honest, dependable, and willing to work in a manufacturing environment, including overtime, weekends, or holidays when required.
Physical Demands and Working Environment
· Performs routine inspections in production, warehouse, and storage areas.
· Requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting of materials during inspections (up to 10 kg).
· Frequently exposed to production noise, varying temperatures, dust, and food ingredients while following GMP and safety procedures.
· Requires keen visual attention to detail during inspections and product verification.
· May be required to work overtime, weekends, or holidays based on production schedules and operational requirements.
