About the role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Education Teacher (Guru Olahraga) to join the teaching faculty at Taman Rama School, operated by the Taman Mahatma Gandhi Foundation. This is a full-time position based in Denpasar, Bali. As a Physical Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in developing students' physical fitness, motor skills, and appreciation for healthy lifestyles. You will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging PE lessons that inspire students to lead active, healthy lives whilst fostering teamwork, discipline, and personal growth. This position is fundamental to our school's commitment to holistic education and student wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Physical Education lessons aligned with the school curriculum and educational standards

• Assess and monitor students' physical development, fitness levels and motor skill progression

• Create inclusive lesson plans that cater to students of varying abilities and fitness levels

• Organise and supervise school sports events, competitions and inter-school sporting activities

• Coach and mentor students in various sports and athletic disciplines

• Promote health and wellness education, including nutrition and lifestyle awareness

• Maintain safe, clean and well-equipped sports facilities and equipment

• Collaborate with other teaching staff to integrate PE with broader educational objectives

• Communicate with parents regarding students' progress and participation in physical activities

• Uphold school values and maintain high standards of professional conduct and discipline

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science or a related field from an accredited institution

• Valid teaching credentials or certification recognised in Indonesia or international equivalent

• Demonstrated experience teaching Physical Education at the secondary level

• Strong knowledge of various sports, fitness training methods and age-appropriate physical activities

• Excellent organisational and lesson planning skills

• Ability to create an engaging, inclusive and motivating learning environment

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in English; proficiency in Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia) is highly desirable

• First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain

• Passion for promoting physical fitness, sports and student wellbeing

• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage positively with parents and the wider school community

• Commitment to maintaining professional standards and safeguarding child welfare
