Virtualisation Engineer

About the role

This role involves installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of server and virtualization platforms. You will manage and troubleshoot Windows Server, Linux Server (Oracle Linux), VMware, and Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM) environments, including deployment, configuration, and maintenance of OLVM environments with virtual machines, hosts, clusters, storage, and network configuration.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of server and virtualization platforms

• Manage and troubleshoot Windows Server, Linux Server (Oracle Linux), VMware, and OLVM environments

• Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot OLVM environment including virtual machines, hosts, clusters, storage, and network configuration

• Configure and troubleshoot hypervisor and virtual machines according to infrastructure requirements

• Perform security hardening on operating systems and hypervisors

• Configure and secure SSH, IPTables, Firewall, server security parameters, access control, and authentication across Windows, Linux, VMware, and OLVM

• Monitor availability, performance, capacity, and health of servers and virtualization environments

• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting on operating systems, hypervisors, virtual machines, networks, and infrastructure

• Execute patching, upgrades, and maintenance of OS/hypervisor according to procedures and change management

• Use and manage open-source tools for monitoring, administration, troubleshooting, automation, and infrastructure management

Qualification :

• Minimum S1/D4 degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field

• Minimum 4 years of experience as System Engineer, System Administrator, Virtualization Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar position

• Hands-on experience in System Administration and Virtualization

• Knowledge and experience with Windows Server, Linux/Oracle Linux, VMware, and OLVM

• Understanding of server virtualization concepts and administration including hypervisor, virtual machine, cluster, storage, and virtual networking

• Experience with installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrade, and troubleshooting of OS and hypervisor

• Understanding of IT Security and Server Hardening including SSH configuration, IPTables, Firewall configuration, server security parameters, user/access management, and security hardening on Windows, Linux, VMware, and OLVM

• Knowledge of Open Source Tools used in system/infrastructure environments

• Basic scripting and automation capability using Linux Command Line, Bash/Shell Script, and Windows CMD

• Understanding of IT SDLC concepts and change management

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
