About the role

RS Sedayu General Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental department. This is a full-time position based in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, where you will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team and ensuring exceptional patient care. As a Dental Nurse, you will be at the forefront of our patient experience, assisting dentists during procedures, managing patient flow, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and hygiene. This position is essential to the smooth operation of our dental services and directly contributes to patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist dentists during clinical procedures, including scaling, fillings, extractions, and other dental treatments

• Prepare and sterilise dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols

• Manage patient records and maintain accurate documentation of treatments and procedures

• Welcome and position patients in the dental chair, explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety

• Provide chairside assistance, including suctioning and passing instruments to the dentist

• Monitor patient vital signs and respond appropriately to patient concerns

• Maintain a clean and organised dental operatory, adhering to strict hygiene standards

• Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and processing patient queries

• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care

• Assist with dental radiography and other diagnostic procedures as required

What we're looking for

• Formal qualification or certification in dental nursing from a recognised institution

• Proven experience working as a Dental Nurse in a clinical setting, preferably in a hospital or multi-chair dental clinic

• Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and infection control protocols

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with patients and dental team members

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate patient records

• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods

• Proficiency in Indonesian language; English language skills are advantageous

• Current knowledge of dental health and safety regulations and best practices

• Patient-centred approach with empathy and compassion for patients with dental anxiety
