ENGLISH TEACHER

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join My English Course and Academy, located in Bagan Sinembah Riau. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' English language development within a dynamic childcare and outside school hours care environment. As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English language instruction to students of various ages and proficiency levels, fostering a love of learning whilst helping students achieve their language goals. This role is essential to our mission of providing high-quality educational support to the children and young people in our community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English language lessons that are tailored to meet the individual needs and learning levels of students

• Create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages active participation and builds confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing

• Assess student progress through regular evaluations, tests and observations, and provide constructive feedback to support ongoing development

• Use a variety of teaching methods and resources, including interactive activities, games, multimedia materials and practical exercises to enhance learning outcomes

• Develop and maintain detailed lesson plans and educational materials aligned with curriculum standards and learning objectives

• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements and areas for development

• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in teaching approaches and to contribute to the overall success of the childcare and outside school hours care programme

• Foster cultural awareness and encourage students to appreciate the English language and anglophone cultures

• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and behaviour

• Contribute to a safe, nurturing and organised learning environment

What we're looking for

• A recognised teaching qualification or certification in English language instruction (TEFL, TESOL, or equivalent qualification is preferred)

• Proven experience teaching English to children and young people in an educational setting

• Excellent command of the English language, with strong communication skills in both written and spoken English

• A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students achieve their learning potential

• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create an engaging and disciplined learning environment

• Excellent organisational and time management skills

• Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and levels of ability

• Experience in developing age-appropriate and engaging lesson materials and activities

• A patient, empathetic and supportive approach to working with children and young people
