Floor Captain

About the role

Supervise and coordinate daily floor operations to ensure smooth and efficient service. Lead and guide service team members during daily operations, including briefing and task allocation. Ensure all guests receive excellent and consistent service according to company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor table setup, cleanliness, service sequence, and overall floor presentation

• Handle guest requests, feedback, and complaints professionally and promptly

• Coordinate with Kitchen, Bar, Cashier, and other departments to ensure smooth service flow

• Monitor team performance and provide guidance or corrective action when necessary

• Ensure SOP, hygiene, safety, and service standards are consistently followed

• Assist in training and coaching new and existing team members

• Monitor stock and operational equipment required for service and report any shortages or issues

• Support the Supervisor/Assistant Manager/Restaurant Manager in achieving operational targets

• Prepare or assist with daily operational reports when required

• Take charge of the floor in the absence of the Supervisor or Manager

About you

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position within a restaurant, hotel, café, or hospitality industry

• Previous experience as a Captain, Senior Waiter/Waitress, or Team Leader is highly preferred

• Strong knowledge of restaurant service procedures and floor operations

• Good leadership and team coordination skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Customer-oriented with a positive and professional attitude

• Able to handle guest complaints and operational issues effectively

• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

• Good attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

• Able to work in shifts, weekends, and public holidays
