MANDARIN TEACHER

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Mandarin Teacher to join our Secondary Education department. This is a contract position based in North Jakarta, Jakarta. As a Mandarin Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Mandarin language instruction to secondary school students, fostering their linguistic abilities, cultural awareness, and appreciation for the Chinese language.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging Mandarin language lessons aligned with curriculum standards and learning objectives

• Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation, confidence, and proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Mandarin

• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments tailored to various proficiency levels

• Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback

• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum coherence and support student learning across year levels

• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and areas for improvement

• Participate in school activities, professional development opportunities, and curriculum development initiatives

• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mandarin Language, Education, or related field

• Proven teaching experience in secondary education settings, preferably in Mandarin language instruction

• Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (Simplified or Traditional characters)

• Strong command of English for classroom communication and interaction with colleagues

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse learners

• Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools to enhance teaching effectiveness

• Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for language education

• Experience working in international or multicultural school environments is preferred
