Accounting Department Head

About the role

PT Putra Perkasa Abadi is seeking an experienced and strategic Accounting Department Head to lead our accounting and financial reporting operations. This is a full-time position based in Jakarta. As Accounting Department Head, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of timely financial reports. This role is pivotal to the financial governance of the organisation and requires a professional who can drive operational excellence whilst maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Leading and managing the accounting department team, including recruitment, training, performance management and professional development

• Overseeing the preparation and accuracy of financial statements in accordance with Indonesian accounting standards and regulatory requirements

• Implementing and maintaining robust accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and compliance

• Managing the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other core accounting functions

• Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders

• Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting to support decision-making by senior management

• Managing external audits and liaising with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes

• Monitoring compliance with tax regulations and coordinating with tax authorities where necessary

• Developing and implementing accounting systems and technologies to improve operational efficiency

• Providing financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions

• Managing departmental budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness of accounting operations

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline (mandatory)

• Professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent qualification

• Minimum of 8 years' experience in accounting and financial reporting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or departmental leadership role

• Strong proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

• In-depth knowledge of Indonesian accounting standards (SAK) and tax regulations

• Demonstrated expertise in financial statement preparation, consolidation and analysis

• Excellent understanding of internal controls, risk management and audit procedures

• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams

• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all financial matters

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities whilst maintaining high standards

• Experience in public accounting firm, mining or related industries is preferred
