Engineering Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join PT. Kredit Utama Fintech Indonesia in Jakarta Pusat. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial strategic role in leading and developing our software engineering teams. As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for building high-performing teams, driving technical excellence, and ensuring the successful delivery of innovative fintech solutions. This role requires a balance between hands-on technical leadership and people management, with the opportunity to shape the technical direction of our organisation and mentor the next generation of engineering talent.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop software engineering teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning

• Manage team performance, conduct regular one-on-ones, and provide constructive feedback to support career development

• Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet project timelines and business objectives

• Define and implement engineering best practices, coding standards, and development processes

• Collaborate with product, design, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

• Oversee the architecture and technical design of software systems, ensuring scalability, security, and performance

• Monitor and improve code quality through code reviews, testing frameworks, and continuous integration practices

• Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks and propose innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges

• Manage team capacity planning, hiring needs, and talent acquisition to build strong engineering capabilities

• Report on team performance, project status, and key metrics to senior leadership

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field

• Minimum 5–7 years of professional software development experience with demonstrated expertise in software architecture and design patterns

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a management or team leadership role, ideally managing engineering teams of 5 or more individuals

• Strong proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks relevant to fintech or enterprise software development

• Proven expertise in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance software systems

• Deep understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban

• Experience with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality software products

• Experience in the fintech, banking, or financial services industry is highly desirable

• Familiarity with security best practices, compliance frameworks, and data protection regulations relevant to financial services
