About the role
Reporting to the Director, we are seeking an experienced Head of Construction to join Coco Development Group in Badung, Bali. This is a full-time position based on-site in Badung, offering a strategic leadership opportunity within our construction management division.
As Head of Construction, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is integral to our company's success, requiring you to manage complex building programmes, coordinate multiple teams, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory authorities. Your leadership will directly impact the delivery of our development portfolio and the reputation of Coco Development Group.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management. Master's degree or professional certification (PMP, SKA Ahli Madya/Utama) is an advantage.
Minimum 15 years of experience in construction, with at least 7 years at Head of Department, Construction Director, or equivalent executive level.
Proven track record leading the full delivery of a multi-project facade, curtain wall, aluminum, glazing, or building envelope portfolio — including high-rise and landmark projects.
Experience managing an entire construction organization: Project Managers, Construction/Site Managers, QA/QC, and HSE functions.
Demonstrated ownership of delivery P&L, including margin protection, cost control, and commercial recovery on projects.
Deep command of contract forms and administration (FIDIC, JCT, or local main-contractor subcontracts), claims and variation management, procurement strategy, and risk management.
Strong technical understanding of facade systems, fabrication-to-installation workflow, structural interfaces, and performance testing standards.
Executive-level leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills; able to represent the company at director level with clients and main contractors.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Job Description:
Lead the Construction Division as its most senior executive, holding full accountability for the safe, profitable, and on-time delivery of the company's entire project portfolio.
Define and execute the company's construction delivery strategy, translating business targets set by the Board into operational plans, capacity requirements, and departmental KPIs.
Own the delivery P&L across all projects — protecting contract margin, approving budgets and forecasts, and driving cost and productivity performance.
Build, structure, and develop the construction organization: recruit, mentor, and evaluate Project Managers and Construction Managers, and establish succession and capability-development plans.
Approve project execution strategies, master schedules, resource and manpower allocation, subcontractor engagement, and recovery plans across the portfolio.
Govern portfolio-level performance through structured reporting, early-warning indicators, and monthly project reviews with senior management and the Board.
Hold final authority on major commercial matters — variations, claims, extensions of time, back-charges, and dispute resolution — in coordination with Legal and Commercial.
Direct cross-functional alignment between Engineering, Procurement, Production, Logistics, and Site Operations to ensure fabrication and installation sequencing supports project programmes.
Serve as the company's senior representative to clients, consultants, main contractors, and authorities, owning executive relationships that secure repeat business.
Establish and enforce company-wide construction standards, project management systems, quality assurance protocols, and HSE governance, ensuring full compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
Champion a zero-incident safety culture and hold ultimate accountability for HSE performance across all sites.
Provide decisive input into tenders and business development — validating buildability, execution strategy, programme assumptions, resource loading, and risk pricing before bid submission.
Drive continuous improvement and digitalization of construction delivery: methods, installation productivity, reporting systems, and lessons-learned processes.
Advise the Board on operational capacity, portfolio risk exposure, and investment needs in equipment, systems, and people.
