FORMULATRIX is expanding its Bandung team! As a Software Research Engineer you will develop mainly backend features on a web application (but should be comfortable working full-stack). In this particular role you’ll be implementing a smart camera monitoring system that integrates with multiple cameras and instruments. You will take full ownership of the project, following direction from the Product Manager.
What you will do
Design and implement backend services and APIs for camera and instrument integration.
Build the data pipeline, from camera/instrument input to storage, processing, and presentation.
Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, and deployable code.
Collaborate with the Product Manager and hardware team to translate requirements into technical designs.
What we look for
Qualification: at least Bachelor’s degree (S1/D4) in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Previous experience with Python and C#.
Familiar with (or ready to learn) the tech stack: Frigate, FFmpeg, WebRTC, ASP.NET Core.
Good understanding of software architecture, OOP principles, and other software engineering practices (SDLC, version control).
Previous experience working with camera, multimedia, or interactive systems.
Soft skills:

Communicates well in English, written and verbal.
Nice to have
PoE, networking, and network protocols.
Video compression and streaming protocols (e.g. H.264/H.265, RTSP, GStreamer) and techniques (e.g. high resolution 4K streaming, substream).
Video processing and handling high-bandwidth video data.
Embedded software programming (e.g. Raspberry Pi).
Linux kernel drivers or V4L2 (Video4Linux2).
AI / machine learning (e.g. dataset preparation, training, testing).
Computer vision libraries (e.g. OpenCV).
